Keeping your diff leak free will keep the amount of track-side maintenance down on your Durango DEX410. Take your time to build your diffs well and they will stay leak free until you need to change / refresh your diff fluid. Here we use Green slime as our ‘Grease’ but any PTFE based grease will keep your seals performing at their best
The Tools for the job
Smear grease into the recess for the 'X' Ring
Insert 'X' Ring into recess
Insert Diff Outdrive
Fit retaining washer
Fit E Clip
Fit Gear
Repeat the above steps for the ‘Plastic’ side of the diff

The odd 1.3mm driver required to assemble these diffs is a problem to find. There are other screws in the kit that use 1.5. It would be great if the screws were changed to use a more standard and easy to buy 1.5mm driver. I have to special order the driver to get one because no store has it locally.

Simple really. Seems Europeans are way too fond of the metric system (it is nice) but the 1.3mm wrench is just a standard 0.050″ (inch) allen key. Duh!?lol

The diff outdrives did NOT fit into the side gears. Even taping them with a hammer did not work. I had to take a file and sand down each of the six side of the outdrive untill they would fit. Theres a bit of extra work involved but the car is a very tight fit. Thats much better then being too sloopy!

Please make the diff screws a bigger size.
Also the diff X rings are crap, everyone i know is changing them.
Come on people, you took 8 years to release the car, surely you saw the oil leaking from the diff in the X ring area.

I just love this car,its the best ive ever had even do it has its small problems. The only problems ive ever had is the pins in the axel wich i fixed by upgrading to 2010spec pins and some shrink hose. The second problem is the leaking diffs in the Xring erea. Is there any good replacments out there?

I never had a problem, its a great buggy no matter what.Once the buggy is built and your actually having fun not breaking, like most buggys we have driven,it’s just finding solutions to a great platform.
