Top Chinese racer Le Hua Lin has signed to race the DNX408.  Le Hua hails from Guangzhou in Southern China and whilst he’s only been racing since 2005 has racked up a series of impressive victories in his home country.  Le Hua specialises in both 1/8th buggy and electric off road, and with Le Hua on-board, Team Durango vehicles will be winning at even more race tracks in Asia during 2011.  Le Hua is one of the Chinese top drivers who had a superb performance at the 1/8th buggy Worlds in 2010 – Team Durango are happy to have this rising star join our already-strong team of international drivers.

Jörn Neumann did the double at the Maritime Raceways ‘Off Road Wars World Cup’ in Chatham, Kent.  Some of the top talent in Europe gathered to do battle at the former home of the Petit RC race for the previous two years.In the 2WD class Jörn took the TQ in the final round with his DEX210 prototype – and from then on, it was a one-man show as Jörn dominated the finals in impressive style to secure the win ahead of the Xfactory and new Losi vehicles.

Jörn qualified second in the 4WD class with hid DEX410 but took another perfect score by winning the opening two legs of the A final to secure another Durango victory.

Jörn’s at the top of his game right now and his move back to Team Durango has created a formidable combination of driver and machine.

The fourth round of the Team Durango winter series held at Ardent Raceway is taking place this coming weekend, with open practice available on Saturday 26th February before the racing kicks off on Sunday monrning – doors open at 7:30am and racing will start around 9am after booking-in has completed.  Places are still available in 2WD, 4WD and Short Course.  The surface will be the blue PetitRC carpet, with two new ramps, never seen before at the Raceway. Team Durango drivers Adam Skelding, Nathan Waters and James Helliwell currently sit 1-2-3 respectively in the 4WD class with their DEX410 2010-spec buggies.  Adam Skelding took the previous round of the Short Course class in his first time out with the new DESC410R but things are still very much to play for with two more rounds to go.

The past weekend saw the 1st round of the 1/10th off road electric SA National Championship been held at Swartkops raceway.  The track is a tricky one, with a tight and technical section on the inner field.   Team Durango had the most cars in the field with a total of 5 out of the A main being TD cars with another two Team Durango DEX410R in the B main.

Jaco Van Eeden took overall TQ in the 4WD Modified A-Main – leading a 1-2-3 procession in qualifying for Team Durango.  Positions in the final didn’t change for the top three, with Jaco taking the win at the opening round of the South African National series.

This has been our most successful weekend to date to have 3 TD cars at the top.

The 2nd annual Vienna Winterchamps, indoor off-road race was held over the weekend of 18-20th February at the RC-Carpetfun track in Vienna, Austria – with 2WD, 4WD and Short Course 2WD classes.
Team Durango driver Jörn Neumann took the overall TQ in both 2WD and 4WD buggy classes with his DEX210 Prototype and DEX410 2010 spec buggies. Hupo Hönigl and Martin Kriel made it a 1-2-3 for Team Durango in 4WD qualifying with Hupo also placing 4th overall in 2WD qualifying after the 5-rounds.

2WD: Hupo Hönigl 3rd – Jörn Neumann TQ & 1st

2WD:
In the 3-leg finals, Jörn Neumann took all three legs of the 2WD class to show his blisteringly quick form at the moment, taking the win with Hupo Hönigl third piloting another DEX210 Prototype.

4WD:  Rene Traumer 3rd – Hupo Hönigl 1st – Jörn Neumann 2nd

4WD:
In the 4WD class Jörn had taken TQ but it was his Team Durango Team-mate Hupo Hönigl that secured the victory with his DEX410 – Jörn finished second and Rene Trauner in third gave Team Durango a clean sweep for the 4WD podium.

4WD Buggy: Craig Collinson 2nd – Nathan Waters 1st

Round five of the Schumacher Indoor Masters held at the immensely popular Worksop venue saw a battle-royale in the 4WD class, which saw Team Durango take the top two spots with Nathan Waters and Craig Collinson going 1-2, with Adam Skelding 6th and James Helliwell 9th.

Short Course: Adam Skelding 2nd – Nathan Waters 1st

The new Short Course truck class at Worksop saw Team Durango’s Adam Skelding dominate qualifying with the new DESC410R – taking 3 of the 4 rounds to take overall TQ in the 16-car final! The 8-minute final quickly changed into 11 minutes during the race as the organisers played with the timing. By the end of the 11 minutes it was Nathan Waters again taking the win, with Adam Skelding 2nd – giving the DESC410R a healthy 1-2 in its first outing at Worksop.

Round 4 of the Tresrey Off-Road race was held last Sunday 13th February at the RC Park GOJO circuit in Gojo-city, Nara, Japan. 65 racers joined this event, making it the best attended race that the GOJO circuit ever had for an off-road event with 54 entrants in the 2WD class and 44 in  the 4WD class.

In qualifying it was Noriyuki Kawashima to managed to take TQ for both the 2WD and 4WD classes.  In 2WD, Momotaro Motohira won the race from 2^nd grid, with Kunio Shimabukuro taking 2^nd and Eiji Tomita 3^rd.

There were 14 drivers piloting the Durango DEX410 or DEX410R in the 4WD class and 4 of them made the A final. Kawashima won the race from the pole, with Motohira taking 2^nd and Satoshi Fujii 3^rd with his DEX410. Team Durango Japan local support driver Akihiro Yasuda finished 5^th, Kenji Masuda finished 7^th, and Team Durango Japan team driver Minoru Utsugi 8th all driving DEX410s. After the award ceremony, Tresrey held a big draw prize draw which included a DEX410 2010spec kit.
