Team Durango pro team drivers have recently found off-road success at the 14th annual Dirt Nitro Challenge in Phoenix Arizona. This high profile dirt race is attended by some of the worlds top off-road racers with all big manufacturers competing across a wide selection of race classes. Contrary to the events name, the guys down at Fear Farm RC Raceway also include 10th scale electric powered vehicles to compete at their well appointed Phoenix based venue. Team Durango pro team drivers were very happy to come away with three hard fought top five places in three of the hottest racing classes at the event.

Carson Wernimont was really happy to put his DNX408 buggy fourth overall in the 8th scale pro buggy class. His finishing position was to have an even greater impact when the remainder of the top ten places were taken by the likes of Ryan Maifield, Adam Drake and Jared Tebo to name a few. Carson once again not only proved that he has the racing skill to compete with the fastest racers in the world, but he also proved that the DNX408 platform is world class as well. Carson raced a solid set of qualifying rounds to see him return with a fourth overall after a challenging final leg of the A main final.

Team Durango pro driver Ryan Lutz was also performing well under the pressure of such a demanding multi-class event. Ryan was really happy to secure a podium position in both 10th scale 4WD Short Course, where he placed second overall with his DESC410, and 8th scale 4WD Electric buggy, again placing his DEX408 in second overall position. Ryan was competing in several classes during this prestigious meeting and it is fair to say he must be exhausted after such great final results.

Founder father of Durango and head of prototype development, Gerd Strenge was track side throughout the event to both support his Team Durango team mates and also assist with our pro drivers testing some very exciting new parts. We are always so happy to see our global network of team racers and engineers coming together from all over the world to represent our brand. The 2013 Dirt Nitro Challenge was dominated by professional team drivers who are very experienced at racing on this type of venue. What a wonderful stage for Team Durango to see success across three seperate racing classes. Our congratulations go out to Carson and Ryan for a really solid set of results and we would like to thank everybody who welcomed our team down in Phoenix for a truly awesome racing event at Fear Farm Raceway.
