To follow our recent article that documented the building anticipation for the 2013 Cactus Classic, we thought we would update you on how Team Durango are getting ready for the heat of the action. The Cactus Classic is in its 27th glorious year, with racers from all over the globe making the pilgrimage to the warmth of the Arizona based Scottsdale Raceway. With the pit area of this famous off-road venue looking distinctly like a RC hall of fame, it is anticipated that our Team Durango pro drivers are in for a real roller coaster ride.
Absolutely no strangers to high profile competition, Team Durango are finalising their kit preparations, itemising their pit boxes and mentally preparing for another high pressure professional race event. Team Durango is ‘Serious About Racing’, with hundreds of hours of car and physical preparation going into every meeting that draws loyal race crowds from every part of our beloved sport. Jörn Neumann and Hupo Hönigl will be travelling across the Atlantic to bring their own blend of precision Team Durango input to our truly international team.
American pro Team Durango racers Carson Wernimont, Ryan Lutz and Travis Amezcua will complete the very strong Team Durango squad for this epic battle of dirt chucking off-road competition.

Racing at this high level is all about consistency. This consistency comes from intense practice and diligent preparation. Tyres, shock oils, screws, electrical components, diff and gear box lubrication, transmitter settings, the team are now working intensively to minimise the potential for car or equipment issues during the intense punishment that each vehicle undergoes. Every Team Durango team driver is a highly experienced vehicle RC mechanic. This experience not only assists with their ability to configure their racing cars for each unique track condition, but also gives them the hands-on experience with every Team Durango product they use. Our pro team travel thousands of miles every year to not just race, but conduct extensive reasearch and development sessions that contribute to the development of all of our world-class products.
