Collinson Takes Worksop Double – DEX210v2 & DEX410v4

Team Durango UK racing star Craig Collinson has returned from the recent round of the Worksop Winter Series with a double win and double TQ.

Craig piloted his DEX210v2 to a solid victory in the 2WD Buggy class, that included an ‘A’ main finish that was four seconds ahead of the trailing competition. With a switch of focus to his DEX410v4, Craig flew to another overall win, setting two fastest laps during qualifying, with a 17 lap run in round four, giving him the only 17 lap race of the day.

Craig reported that both cars provided the perfect balance between aggressive forward traction and low speed steering on the notoriously difficult Worksop sports hall track surface.

With a recent record of multiple Worksop podium places and TQ finishes, Craig is building towards an exciting upcoming outdoor National season.

Congratulations to Craig for another strong performance. Watch this space for my Craig Collinson victories very soon.

Novotny Clean Sweep – Czech Open Challenge

Team Durango Czech star Kaja Novotny has continued his off-road supremacy at the recently contested sixth round of the Czech Open Challenge near Prague.

Kaja was able to add further momentum to his ballistic fast race pace by performing a complete clean sweep of all qualifying rounds and ‘A’ main final legs with his DEX410v4 and DEX408v2 vehicles. This gave Kaja the TQ in both racing classes, and allowed him to capititalise on his pole position ‘A’ main starting places by securing first place overall in both classes.

In a whirl wind performance that seems to have pushed his recent winning streak beyond all expectations, Kaja concluded the event with six qualifying wins, two overall TQ places, and six ‘A’ main leg wins across two racing classes!

Cactus Classic Multiple ‘A’ Main Finishes

Team Durango Pro team racers Lutz, Amezcua and Neumann have returned from the annual Cactus Classic in Scottsdale Arizona with a great collection of results.

The Cactus Classic is widely recognised as one of the premier 1/10 off-road race meetings in the USA, and with some of the fastest racing talent attending, Team Durango were ready for action.

With the Scottsdale RC Raceway dirt track being prepared with a liberal coating of the now ubiquitous sugar and water, our Pro team were excited to race the new DEX210v2 and DEX410v4. All three racers were happy to secure a ‘A’ main top ten finish with the DEX210v2, showing the strength of the newly launched 2WD Buggy platform at the highest level of competition.

Neumann found the DEX410v4 was fast on the sugar watered clay surface. The new Two-Way Slipper Clutch performed extremely well

4WD Buggy was to conclude with Jörn Neumann placed in fourth overall, highlighting the awesome potential of the DEX410v4 on a track surface treatment that is becoming very popular in the USA. Jörn was to go on to also secure second overall in the Stadium Truck class with his DEST210R. Ryan was really pleased with the performance of both his DEX210v2 and DEX410v4, and he has reported that both cars drove very consistently on the sugar watered surface.

Ryan Lutz found his DEX210v2 really easy to drive, with heaps of forward traction and well-balanced steering throughout. The new -2mm Rear Suspension Hanger was perfectly suited to the Scottsdale surface

With Scottsdale RC Raceway hosting this hugely popular annual race, for the last time on the outdoor track prior to it moving indoors for next year, Team Durango were really happy to conclude the event with 11 Cactus Classic Trophies!

Travis Amezcua was happy to add a second place ‘A’ main third leg finish to his top ten 2WD Buggy result

We send our congratulations to the team for a great set of results at the Cactus Classic. We also send thanks to our colleagues in the USA for their track-side support, and to Gerd Streng for his tireless pit support and development work.

DEX410v4 Wins Worksop Indoor Master

Team Durango UK Pro team driver, and previous European Champion, Chris Doughty, has recently returned from the sixth round of the Worksop Indoor Winter Masters in the UK, victorious.

Chris attended the ever-popular indoor race meeting with the goal of building on his fast pace in previous rounds. His DEX410v4 provided the fastest lap of the ‘A’ main final and an overall win for Team Durango in the 4WD Buggy class. Chris also battled hard in 2WD Buggy with his DEX210v2 to take third overall against the regions fastest off-road racers.

Chris was keen to share these words with Team Durango fans:

Running my DEX210v2 and DEX410v4 cars at the previous two rounds and getting pretty decent results I was going into this event with more and more confidence each time.

I didn’t have the best of qualifying, I ended up third in 4WD and fourth in 2WD when really I had the pace to TQ both classes.

I knew I was lining up with potentially the fastest cars in the finals.

4WD final starting from third, it was a ‘freight train’ for the first two laps.

When first and second place had made errors and I was able to get by into the lead, right after this spate of crashes from the lead two cars, I was flat-out down the main straight and a car crashed on the next lane and crossed into my path which resulted in a head-on crash. My car shook it off with only superficial damage (a dented body!) and continued just fine. From this point I just put safe laps in to bring it home with the win. Even though I was running safe laps I still ended up with the fastest lap of the race.

My DEX410v4 performed really well on the mixed surface track – Chris Doughty – Team Durango UK

We send our congratulations to Chris for a great performance. The DEX410v4 continues to prove itself as the 4WD that can win on any surface.

Team Durango UK Take Broxtowe Winter Series

Team Durango UK racers Daniel Austin and Andy Wesson have recently returned from the final round of the Broxtowe Snowman Winter Series in the UK. Their championship finishing positions being first and second overall with the DEX410v4 in the 4WD Buggy class.

Broxtowe host a season-long off-road race series every year that is heavily attended by some of the regions fastest racing talent. The outdoor Astroturf track is known to be a difficult surface to master, but Daniel and Andy found no such issues, as they locked out the top two podium spots for Team Durango.

Short Course is a popular class during the Broxtowe winter campaign, and John Brook was happy to secure first overall with his DESC210, in a Truck final that saw the top five vehicles being the DESC210.

We send our congratulations to the Team Durango racers who have braved the cold and wet winter months to work towards a really great season closing-round of racing.

Daniel sent us the cool Team Durango montage above, showing some action from the series.
