Heinonen Takes TD Double

The first round of the 1/10 Finnish National Winter Series was held at the new PKSRCA indoor track in Helsinki last weekend.

Team Durango racers Ari Heinonen and Markku Honkanen were happy to dominate this fast-paced race meeting, with Ari taking first place in 2WD with his DEX210v2, and adding an overall TQ on day one.

Day two saw Ari continue his campaign of victory, as he secured first place overall in 4WD with his DEX410v4. Double podium win for Team Durango.

With over 100 racers competing in this six race series, this early round one victory for Team Durango and Ari is a strong achievement.

We are very excited to watch this series unfold over the coming months.

Congratulations go to Ari for a solid double podium result, and sincere thanks to Markku for his support and hard work.

Roque Takes 2WD In Portugal

Portuguese Team Durango race star, Nuno Roque, has returned from the second round of his domestic National Championship with a second place finish for his DEX210v2.

Nuno was able to secure this great result racing in poor weather conditions on a difficult mixed track surface at the 1/8TT venue.

Happy with his 2WD Buggy result, Nuno also went on to finish a solid fourth place in 4WD, racing his DEX410v4, again in far from perfect weather conditions.

We send our sincere congratulations and thanks to Nuno for another great result.

DEX8 & DEX410 Take Double

img_3591

Double Win – Double TQ

Czech Team Durango racer, Kaja Novotny, has opened his winter indoor racing season with a double podium victory for Team Durango.

Racing in two classes at the first round of the Indoor Open Challenge in Prague, Kaja was very happy to take the overall win in 1/8 E-Buggy with his DEX8, adding the TQ for good measure.

Kaja then switched to racing his DEX410 in 1/10 4WD, adding another first place finish and overall TQ, to secure double victory honours in the Czech Republic.

Kaja has a strong reputation for very fast race results during the indoor carpet racing season. We are all very excited to watch him continue to show the race-winning pace of his Team Durango vehicles.

Our sincere thanks and congratulations go to Kaja and his father Karel.

Build The Perfect 2WD Gearbox Assembly

Team Durango Australia team driver and long-time brand ambassador, Leo Lorenzen, has recently completed a very useful video tutorial.

Leo presents a guide to building the perfect 2WD Gearbox, helping Team Durango fans get the most form their DEX210, DEST210 and DESC210 race machines.

This guide shows the most popular build configuration for Rear Motor set-ups, used by our team drivers in most low grip situations, being super-responsive and providing great power transfer.

TD Life – Fourth Edition

More Race Action & Community News – Edition Four – 2015

Wow! … That is about all that can be said about this week’s racing action from our team guys, as well as our loyal racing fans and friends living the #TDLife.

Just fantastic racing across the board this week folks.  More National titles, more series podiums, IFMAR Worlds action, and families getting in on the fun.

This edition has a truly international flavour, as the #TDLife continues to bring truly inspirational news.  Let’s get to it!

First off, we would like to wish the greatest of successes to our main USA representative, Travis Amezcua. Peanut is currently hitting the turf in Japan, at the Yatabe Arena, for the IFMAR World 1/10 Buggy Championships.

With the Team Durango design studio always pushing to develop our race machines, it will be very interesting to see how Travis does with some excellent-looking vehicles in his hands, on this extremely high-traction track.

Congratulations are now in order for Frank Hempel who recently raced his DESC210R to a 1st place podium finish.

This was accomplished at Rennstrecke, Germany, in the final round of the Rennstrecke Off-Road Cup.  Nicely done, showing the world how Team Durango vehicles can dominate a race track.

Now with another 1st place podium, experienced TD racer Romain Valter gets things done with his DNX8 1/8 Nitro Buggy at his home track of Reims, in France.

Enjoying the ease of tuning and set-up, Romain can spend more time on the track practicing instead of time in the pits wrenching, resulting in fine finishes like this.  An excellent result and job very well done.

Moving northward, we head back to Canada this week for a series podium trophy shot.  Mr. Ken Deline of Team Durango Canada/Team Great Hobbies, has pulled off an excellent 2nd place series podium in the Durham Off-Road RC Club series with his DEX8T 1/8 electric Truggy.  Ken has very much enjoyed his Team Durango vehicles this season, since his switch from another brand, experiencing new successes every week.

He has enjoyed them so much that he is adding to his fleet and getting back to his roots with a DNX8 1/8 nitro buggy and I’ve also heard that he plans some on-road this winter with a DETC410.

Thanks for all your hard work all season long, Ken, and we wish you every success moving into the indoor season.

Now, moving slightly southward, our man in Michigan, USA, Mike Lopes, is getting things done again.

Mike enjoys the #TDLife to the full, especially when it comes to Short Course racing and his DESC10 4wd SCT.

Mike recently tore up the pack with his DESC10, taking a TQ and 1st place podium finish.  But, Mr. Lopes is not a one-trick pony, and also managed a 3rd place podium with his DEX210v2 2wd Electric Buggy at the same event, after starting 5th on the grid.  Mike can always be relied upon to lend a hand with set-up on any Team Durango vehicle, and has the experience to help you get faster.

So glad to have you on the team, Mr. Lopes.

Jumping back across the pond, now, to the Manor RC Club in the UK, father and son team Mike and Aaron Nash have podiums of their own.

At a recent club meeting, Mike pulled out a great victory in 4wd buggy with his DEX410v4, while his son Aaron grabbed a 2nd place podium spot in the ‘under-10’ division with his DEX210v2.

So nice to see families racing together, and some excellent father-son bonding time being enjoyed whilst living the #TDLife!

Congratulations go out to both Mike and Aaron for a job well done.

Another father and son duo from the UK, Mark Grainger and his son, also experienced great success this week.  Mark raced with a DEX410v4 to a 3rd overall finish at Oaklands, while his son won his first ever ‘under-10’ trophy as well, also with his DEX410v4!  Again, so nice to see family efforts paying off.

It’s so nice to see fathers and sons racing and enjoying Team Durango race machines together. Keep up the great work guys.

And to finish off this most excellent week in the #TDLife, we have another National Championship title.

This time in the on-road class and with the DETC410, Swiss racer Philipp Huber pulls out a wonderful 1st place podium win in the 5th round of the Swiss National series, solidifying his first place position in the series, giving him the overall win!  Absolutely fantastic results.

swisswin

Our sincere thanks and congratulations!  (And for those counting, and I am, that’s the second national title for Team Durango in 3 weeks!)

Thanks go out to each and every racer who has enjoyed racing their Team Durango race machines this week!  As this article clearly shows, Team Durango is a worldwide family movement, with talented racers across the globe choosing the #TDLife, racing precision machines to the win.

DNX8 Victory – Novotny Nitro Form

kajaopendnx8

Nitro Success – The DNX8 Takes Another Win

Czech Team Durango super-racer, Kaja Novotny, has returned from the ninth round of the 2015 Czech Open Challenge with a first place win for his DNX8 1/8 4WD Nitro Buggy.

With the large dusty Horni Jeleni race track seeing warm and sunny conditions, it did not take Kaja long to find fast pace with his DNX8 Buggy, making his claim on a pole position start in the semi-final after qualifying.

Kaja then powered into a dominant lead during the ‘A’ Main final, taking the overall win by almost a full lap from the chasing field.

Kaja was quick to share that he was extremely happy with how easy his DNX8 was to drive, stating that the all-new TD vehicle “…performed perfectly throughout the whole event”

Congratulations go to Kaja and his father Karel for yet another great race result.
