DEX408v2 Sets Track Record – TQ & Win

Team Durango off-road star Kaja Novotny has piloted his DEX408v2 to a record breaking win and TQ at the second round of the KS Challenge in Terezin, Czech Republic.

Kaja posted the fastest lap time ever achieved on this bumpy multi-surface venue, blasting his DEX408v2 to an overall first and TQ. Taking all three qualifying rounds was enough to put Kaja at the front of the experienced pack of racers in the ‘A’ Main final, leaving him plenty of room to get the throttle pinned and go for the record.

The DEX408v2 and Kaja went on to also win all three final legs, securing a clean sweep and new venue record for Team Durango.

We send our sincere thanks and congratulations to Kaja and his father Karel.

The DETC410, in the hands of Team Durango Touring Car star Elliott Harper, has returned from the first round of the UK National series with a TQ, an overall win, and another record smashed to dust!

Elliott was THE pace setting driver from the early stages of this epic clash of the hottest UK Touring Car talent. The DETC410 made easy work of all other manufacturers offerings as Elliott set a new track record at the Cotswolds venue! The DETC410 powered home with the first ever 20 lap run in the history of the venue!

He was even able to ‘throw away’ an early run because of an electrical issue. The DETC410 gave such blistering pace that Elliott was literally leaving the competition in his trails.

Spectators reported that the DETC410 looked like it was “Glued to the track” as the Touring Car scene watched the new Team Durango vehicle ‘eat up’ lap after lap of apex hugging action.

Ryan Lutz recently made Team Durango history by returning from the Silver State Nitro Challenge with no less that five top qualifier results. Ryan TQ’d every class…you read correctly, every class. This is a feat that not only deserves some very respectful recognition, but also can not be argued with. There is no doubt that Ryan is at the very top of off-road RC competition.

His already amazing results were further crowned by him winning the Short Course class with his DESC410v2 and also winning the 8th scale Nitro Truggy class with the DNX408T. Team Durango super racers never do things by half.

The attached images are our way of thanking Ryan. We do not just thank him for his wonderful racing performance, but we also share our gratitude for his professional attitude, his tireless enthusiasm and with no exception, his humble ability to inspire us all.

DETC410 – From The Shadows To The Podium In The Hands Of Harper – Records Get Smashed

Team Durango Touring Car star Elliott Harper has given the DETC410 the strongest debut possible with a record breaking outing at the recently contested BTCC. The high profile race meeting at Cotswold RC track was attended by some of the classes fastest UK based racers. Elliot was early to set a blistering pace, a pace that proved impossible for his rivals to catch.

The DETC410 was set to provide Elliott with the perfect platform to TQ every round of qualifying and smash his previously held track record at the venue. Elliott was to post the fastest lap ever at the Cotswold’s track. The DETC410 pulled away from all other manufacturers to begin its domination of an event that is unofficially, but widely regarded as, a warm-up to the soon to be raced National Touring Car Series.

The DETC410 broke two long-standing track records and was not knocked from top position during the whole event. Elliott was unfortunate to clip a stone during one of his record laps, which resulted in his car flipping and breaking a top deck due to a heavy collision with a track-side obstacle. Elliott and the DETC410 shook of this crash and went on to pull away a further half a lap lead from the chasing field of pro drivers!

Elliott was to conclude the DETC410’s premier by winning both A final legs to be crowned overall winner.

The pit lane was alive with whispers and excited conversations. The DETC410 had landed, and Elliott Harper had shown his rivals how serious Team Durango really are about their entry to this hotly contested racing class.

With rival manufacturers also fielding their own new platforms, the DETC410 was clearly in very safe hands as Elliott Harper piloted this precision engineered race machine from the realms of Touring Car enthusiasts fantasy straight to the winners podium.

The final results looked like this:

1ST- Elliott Harper – Team Durango DETC410

2ND – Chris Grainger – Schumacher MI5

3RD – Olly Jeffries – Team Associated TC6.1

Elliott shared these inspiring words with us straight after his pleasing win – ” The First full race meeting for the DETC410 went exceptionally well, and the early pace is extremely encouraging. Development is racing forwards at the moment and the ‘race pace’ can only get better! It is great to know that the DETC410 is already a class leading performer” Elliott Harper – Team Durango

We congratulate Elliott on a truly awesome display of driving, and join our International drivers network in sharing our excitement for the upcoming months of racing.
